What Does Bad Secrets Focus On?
Bad Secrets is a children’s book designed to educate kids about body safety and empower them to recognize, resist, and report unsafe situations. The book focuses on:
1. Good vs. Bad Secrets—Teaching children the difference between secrets that are okay to keep (like a surprise party) and secrets that should never be kept (like those that make them feel scared, confused, or uncomfortable).
2. Body Safety & Consent—Helping kids understand their right to say “no” to unwanted touch and that their bodies belong to them.
3. Trust & Safe Adults—Encouraging children to talk to a trusted adult if they ever feel unsafe or pressured to keep a secret.
4. Empowerment & Awareness—Building confidence so children know they have a voice and should always speak up if something does not feel right.
